Gaza Bleeds: Israeli Gunfire Kills Four Palestinians, Including Child

(MENAFN) Four Palestinians, among them a child, were killed and one other wounded Friday by Israeli gunfire and shelling across Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip — marking yet another violation of the ceasefire that has been in force since Oct. 10, medical sources told media.

Ismail Aql, 12, was shot dead after Israeli forces opened fire near the Khalifa School in northern Gaza, a site currently sheltering displaced civilians.

Ayman Ahmed al-Nabih, 54, was killed when Israeli shelling struck the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. His body was transported to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the city center. Witnesses told media the strike hit an area outside the Israeli army's designated deployment zone under the ceasefire terms.

In the same neighborhood, Rizq Iyad al-Sharafa, 22, sustained wounds after an Israeli drone struck a civilian gathering near the al-Sharafa roundabout, east of al-Mahatta Park, a medical source confirmed.

Earlier, Abdelwahab Asaad Qanbour, 32, was killed in Israeli shelling that hit the Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City, with his body also transferred to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. Witnesses said a drone struck Qanbour near Salah al-Din Street — another area beyond Israeli troop deployment boundaries.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli violations involving shelling and gunfire have killed 636 Palestinians and wounded 1,704 others as of Thursday, according to Palestinian sources.

The agreement was brokered following two years of war launched by Israel on Oct. 8, 2023 — a conflict that has left more than 72,000 Palestinians dead and 172,000 wounded, while obliterating roughly 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
